Five people, including four graduates of Eleanor Roosevelt High in Eastvale, were killed in a head-on crash in Chino, according to a news report.
Chino police said that a Chevrolet pickup, a Honda Accord and a Honda Civic were involved in the fatal collision on Pine Avenue in Chino. The pickup landed upside down and burst into flames; four people inside were killed, including the driver, Nathan Dominguez, 19, of Eastvale; Anthony Andrew Deleon, 19, of Mira Loma; Alex Emiliano Horta, 19, of Eastvale; and Nathaniel Trinidad Marin, 20, also of Eastvale.
The driver of the Accord — Luis Ayala Mendoza, 47, of Corona — also died at the scene. The driver of the Civic — Oscar Flores, 36, of Ontario — was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Chino police said that a preliminary investigation has revealed the Chevrolet pickup was traveling at an unsafe speed at the time of the fatal crash, crossed over the center line and collided head-on with the Accord.
