Six people, including a seven-year-old child, have been injured after a tow truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and caused a five-car collision in Santa Ana.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the unidentified tow truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove his truck into five other vehicles, including a Nissan Quest minivan and three smaller cars. The incident occurred near North Flower Street and Washington Avenue in Santa Ana.
Six people from the other vehicles were taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, none of which were considered life threatening, according to police. An investigation into the crash is underway.
