Stanton was the scene of fatal accident on Monday afternoon when a cyclist was struck and killed by a motorist on Cerritos Avenue. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSP) is currently seeking anyone who might know the cyclist who is believed to have been in his forties. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
At approximately 1:50 P.M. on Cerritos near Magnolia Avenue the fatal collision occurred. First responders found the victim not breathing but were able to revived before being moved to UC Irvine Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.
The driver suspected of hitting the victim left the scene, but was later located and questioned by police. As of this writing no arrests have been made connected with the fatal crash and the OCSP has not indicated that drugs or alcohol were involved with the police reporting that they currently believe the crash to be an accident.
