A crash involving a big rig and two other cars in Santa Ana intersection left two people hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna the collision occurred Monday, May 13 when an Acura sedan slammed into a semi-truck near McFadden Avenue and Harbor Boulevard at about 12:30 p.m..
The car’s driver and passenger were taken to UCI Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Bommarito stated that it appeared that the sedan may have been involved in a collision with a stake bed truck near Jackson Street, flipped over, then slid on its roof into the path of the semi-truck. A group of bystanders managed to right the Acura back onto its wheels before first responders arrived. Firefighters had to cut open the top of the vehicle to free its occupants.
