At least one person died on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim Wednesday night when their car struck a big rig.
Officers responded about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday to witness reports that a car had become airborne and crashed into the back of a big rig near the East Street exit, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
First responders described the scene as indicating a vehicle had rear-ended a big rig truck. The car was smoking and its driver was unresponsive, the CHP said.
All lanes of traffic were stopped for approximately two hours.
The name of the victim was not immediately released, but will be updated here once it has been. As of the writing of this the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
