The driver of a cement truck that was hit by a train at an unguarded crossing in Corona has died, according to a news report.
Corona Fire Department officials said that Michael Cole, 55, of Ontario, was driving a Robertson’s Ready Mix truck when it was hit by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train at an unguarded crossing at Green River Golf Club in Corona. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck was delivering cement for an Orange County pipeline project when it was struck at the crossing just north of the golf club in the 5200 block of Green River Road. No one on the train was injured.
