A Ford Econoline cargo van towing go-karts hit a male pedestrian who later died at a medical center on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred on Harbor Boulevard where, according to a witness, the man was running westbound across Harbor, just north of Date Place, when the van traveling southbound, struck him.
According to police, “the pedestrian sustained major head trauma and showed a faint pulse.”
The officers who arrived on the scene performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived to take over. The man was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center, where he was pronounced around 2:45 p.m. The man’s identity has not been released yet.
Police report that the van driver stayed at the scene of the accident and was cooperating with the investigation.
