A 64-year-old man from Diamond Bar has died after his vehicle veered off the road and down a steep embankment in the Mount Wilson area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, George William JR McCreary was driving south on Mount Wilson Red Box Road near Altadena when his Ford veered to the right and traveled along the curb, hitting a steel guardrail and tumbling down a steep embankment, hitting several trees. It was unknown why his vehicle went out of control. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fatal crash; the investigation is ongoing.
