Thirty-one-year-old Laura Kate Stackhouse of Costa Mesa was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after her BMW crashed into the living room of a Costa Mesa home at around 1 a.m. on the Saturday morning of January 19.
Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Begonia Avenue in response to a report of the incident.
The car crash caused significant structural damage to the house as well as to the BMW.
As the relative safety of the home could not be verified the residents were evacuated and staying with neighbors until the structure could be evaluated.
Stackhouse, who suffered a broken leg in the crash, was pulled form her BMW by Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue workers while the sole other passenger in the car was extricated and found to be uninjured.
