A 48-year-old El Segundo woman has died at a local hospital from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident.
According to the El Segundo Police Department, the unidentified woman was crossing the street at the intersection of Mariposa Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard when she was hit by a vehicle making a left turn onto Sepulveda Boulevard from Mariposa Avenue. She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she later died.
The driver — a 61-year-old Inglewood man — was not injured and remained at the scene following the accident. Officials said that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash.
