A man, his wife and their two children have been injured after their car was hit by a driver evading police in Santa Ana, according to a news report.
Santa Ana police said that a man and a woman suspected of engaging in drug activity were stopped in their Toyota Tundra by police. When the officer asked the man to shut off his vehicle, the suspect drove away instead. Another officer gave chase and the Tundra crashed into a Chrysler PT Cruiser that was double-parked in the 300 block of Garfield Street, spinning the PT Cruiser around and flipping the Tundra onto it.
A mother, father and two children ages 8 and 10 were inside the PT Cruiser at the time of the crash. All were transported to the hospital and are expected to survive. The Tundra driver was also hospitalized in critical condition. The female passenger in the Tundra was not injured and was taken into police custody.
