Five people were injured in a six-car crash after a 79-year-old woman drove head-on into two other cars in front of the Mission San Juan Capistrano, according to a news report.
The Orange County Fire Authority said that the woman was driving west on Ortega Highway when she made a right turn onto Camino Capistrano and crossed over into oncoming traffic. She crashed head-on into two cars, which then crashed into three other vehicles. The woman was taken to the hospital with significant injuries; four other people were taken to local hospitals with injuries.
Police are investigating the accident, and said that speed may have been a factor.
