An Irvine police officer who was off-duty was injured when the 2008 BMW police motorcycle he was driving collided with a 2005 Mercedes in Huntington Beach.
According to police reports, the unidentified officer’s motorcycle was traveling west on Adams Avenue when it struck the Mercedes, which was travelling north on Brookhurst at Adams. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, sending both the officer and a passenger in the Mercedes to local hospitals with moderate injuries.
The Huntington Beach Police Department is investigating the accident, and have not yet been able to determine who was at fault in the collision.
