On Sunday, June 10, a motorcyclist traveling northbound on Marguerite Parkway approaching Mustang Run in Mission Viejo was critically injured after colliding with a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped at a stop sign exiting the Vista del Lago Apartments before it went into the intersection and intercepted the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was thrown from the motorcycle and transported to a local hospital, Orange County Register reports.
About 7:15 p.m., deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department were called out to Marguerite Parkway just south of Mustang Run.
The driver and a passenger in the vehicle also were transported to a local hospital with complaints of pain. The driver and passenger remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
An initial investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Marguerite Parkway approaching Mustang Run. The vehicle was stopped at a stop sign exiting the Vista del Lago Apartments before it went into the intersection and collided with the motorcycle.
Marguerite Parkway was closed between Mustang Run and Olympiad Road until about 11 p.m. while the department investigated the crash.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash, while a witness also stayed at the scene. While no one has been cited, the Orange County sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate the crash.
