A 27-year-old woman is suspected of driving under the influence in an Irvine motorcycle accident that killed a Santa Ana man, according to a news report.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Leslie Juarez, a Laguna Beach resident, was driving south on I-405 at a high rate of speed when she crashed into a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The impact sent the Sentra careening over the center median and into the No. 1 and 2 lanes of traffic on northbound I-405, where it was hit by a 1995 Toyota Tacoma. A motorcycle driven by J.C. Droege, 32, of Santa Ana, traveling north on I-405 then crashed into the Sentra; Droege was pronounced dead at the scene.
The unidentified driver of the Sentra was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Juarez was taken to Hoag Hospital with minor injuries and later arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
