A 51-year-old San Pedro woman has been killed after she was struck by a car in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Long Beach, according to a news report.
Long Beach police said that Yolanda Archuleta was found lying in the road at the intersection of Anaheim St. and Linden Ave., and was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Investigators said that witnesses reported seeing a black, four-door Honda traveling west on Anaheim hit Archuleta as she was crossing the street. Witnesses said the car stopped and both the driver and a passenger got out, walked over to the victim, then returned to the car and drove away.
Police said the car likely sustained moderate to major front-end damage and a broken headlight; witnesses described the driver as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s and the passenger as a Hispanic female with shoulder length hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Long Beach police at 562-570-7355.
