The driver of one of the cars involved in a fatal head-on collision on the 55 Freeway and Main Street at 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday July 3, has been identified by the Orange County Coroner’s Office as 43-year-old Tustin resident Carmella Vann.
Police are still unclear on how the two vehicles collided head-on on the Costa Mesa Freeway.
The motorist of the other car was immediately transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The name and condition of the patient at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that there were no passengers in either vehicle when the accident happened, but the investigation is still pending.
