One person has died and another was injured after the RV they were traveling in caught fire in Huntington Beach, according to a news report.
Huntington Beach Fire officials said that firefighters responded to a report of an RV on fire near Beach Boulevard and Talbert Avenue. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and a 51-year-old man was standing outside the vehicle. They were unable to rescue a woman trapped inside the RV because of the intense flames.
Investigators said that witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the vehicle as it departed the Walmart parking lot in the 8000 block of Talbert Avenue. The unidentified Huntington Beach man jumped out of the moving RV, which then hit a curb and stopped. He was taken to UCI Irvine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the RV fire is underway.
