An 8-year-old boy was hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle in Coto de Caza.
The victim was riding his bicycle west near the crosswalk at Coto de Caza Drive at around 7:25 a.m. Thursday.
Police report that the boy was struck by a 1999 Ford F-150 that was eastbound on Oso Parkway and turning left onto north Coto de Caza.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene of the bicycle accident and cooperated with police.
The boy was taken to Mission Hospital, where he was scheduled to undergo surgery. The extent of his injuries was not specified by authorities.
