Alex Bonilla of Corona was killed after the car he was driving went off a transition road to the 15 Freeway in Corona and crashed, also leaving three passengers with major injuries on Friday, Oct. 29.
According to police, the fatal car crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the car was traveling on the transition road from the eastbound 91 Freeway to the northbound 15 Freeway and made an “unsafe turning movement” and drove off of the freeway. The car overturned as it went down an embankment and crashed into a concrete light pole on Cresta Road, south of Parkridge Avenue.
Tragically, the driver, 39-year-old Bonilla, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers were ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries, while another passenger who was not ejected but also had major injuries.
