USA Far Ocean Group Inc., an Alhambra-based manufacturer of the male enhancement drugs X-Hero and Male Enhancer, has issued a voluntary recall of both products, according to a news report.
Both drugs, which are marketed as dietary supplements, contain sulfosildenafil and tadalafil, which are used to treat erectile dysfunction. The Food and Drug Administration said that these ingredients could interact with some prescription drugs and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.
The drugs are sold at retailers nationwide as well as via mail order and online. The FDA has warned consumers to stop taking the drugs immediately and contact their physician if they experience any adverse reaction. Consumers can also return any unused products to the supplier for a full refund.
