A 23-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to killing two sisters when she crashed into them in her truck after driving the wrong way on the 91 freeway while intoxicated has been sentenced to six years in prison, according to a news report.
Jessica Lynn Shekell entered a guilty plea to two counts of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunk driving causing injuries in the October 2009 deaths of Sally Miguel, 49, and Patricia Miguel, 30, both of San Bernardino.
Shekell was reportedly driving with a blood alcohol level of .26 – more than three times the legal limit in California – when her pick-up collided head-on with a Chevrolet pick-up driven by Sally Miguel, who was dead at the scene. Her sister, Patricia, died several hours later and two nieces suffered severe injuries in the crash.
