A 21-year-old Colton man has died after being struck by an out-of-control vehicle while riding his motorcycle on a 210/215 freeway transition road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles — a Honda and a Chevrolet — were traveling south on the 215 freeway near the 210 freeway interchange when the Honda driver made an unsafe lane change and hit the Chevrolet.
The impact caused the Chevrolet to ricochet off a concrete barrier, up an embankment, through a metal guardrail and onto a transition road connecting the 210 freeway to the 215 freeway. The Chevrolet then hit a motorcycle on the transition road, causing the victim — Omar Campos, 21, of Colton — to be ejected onto the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the Honda and the Chevrolet were not injured; an investigation into the fatal motorcycle crash is underway.
