A 24-year-old La Habra man has been arrested in connection with a car crash in Pomona that killed his passenger, according to a news report.
Pomona police said that Erik Nicholas Ortiz, 24, of La Habra, was driving his 2008 Nissan Sentra near South Towne and East Franklin avenues when he hit a tree, causing the car to roll and ejecting his passenger from the car. The unidentified passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Ortiz turned himself in to Pomona police a few hours following the crash; police said it was unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident and the investigation is ongoing.
