On December 8, 2017, Edward Susolik will present his informative and practical seminar entitled “Insurance Law for Business Litigators” to the Business Litigation Section of the Orange County Bar Association. This is the 5th time in the last 25 years that the Business Litigation section has asked Mr. Susolik to present this powerful seminar to its members.
The seminar provides a comprehensive analysis of insurance law issues for business litigation attorneys of all types, whether plaintiff or defense. Mr. Susolik will provide the policyholder perspective on the various insurance issues arising out of business litigation, including the duty to defend, Cumis counsel, coverage and bad faith issues and other critical and practical applications. The seminar typically draws an extremely large audience, cutting across all aspects of business litigation (both plaintiff and defendant) and insurance expertise (from insurance novice to expert).
Mr. Susolik’s co-speaker at the seminar is the esteemed Eldon Edson, insurance coverage partner of Selman Breitman. Mr. Edson will provide the insurance company perspective on the various matters discussed. Callahan & Blaine and Selman Breitman have opposed each other in many cases during the last 25 years, but have always maintained the highest professional relationship. In fact, Mr. Susolik and managing partner Neil Selman have presented numerous seminars and speeches on insurance law together over the years, including an annual seminar on “Insurance Law for Litigators” to the State Bar Convention for almost 10 years.
