Everardo Calvillo Jr. was tragically killed in a rollover crash on the 10 Freeway in Riverside County on December 25.
The fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m. just west of Highway 62. According to the California Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on the freeway when the driver made an unsafe lane change into the path of a Toyota Camry, driven by Calvillo Jr.
Calvillo Jr. swerved out of the way when the vehicle lost control. The Camry then traveled off the south end of the road and overturned.
Calvillo Jr. was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. He was 32 years old and from Twentynine Palms, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
A 15-year-old girl and a baby sustained minor injuries. A 14-year-old girl suffered major injuries. The three juveniles were also ejected from the Camry.
A 35-year-old woman, the only passenger not ejected from the car, had minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor-trailer fled the scene.
