A 59-year-old Foothill Ranch woman has been killed and two other people were injured after being hit by a motor home while waiting for a bus in San Juan Capistrano, according to a news report.
The California Highway Patrol said that the incident occurred in the Park-and-Ride parking lot at Junipero Sierra Road near the I-5 off-ramp in San Juan Capistrano. A 54-year-old Newport Beach man attempting to park a 1998 Chevrolet Winnebago in the lot hit a truck, trapping Mabel Jenkins between the motor home and the truck.
The crash triggered a chain reaction that caused two more vehicles to be hit, injuring an 80-year-old Stanton man and a 68-year-old Laguna Niguel man. All three victims were taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. Jenkins was pronounced dead at the hospital; the two men were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
