A four-car accident on southbound I-405 temporarily shut down the No. 1, 2 and carpool lanes in Huntington Beach recently, according to a news report.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a Nissan Altima driven by Jiten Bhakta, 22, of Cerritos slammed into the back of a Ford Thunderbird that had stopped to avoid hitting a stalled van. A Ford Echo also rear-ended the Thunderbird. None of the drivers sustained any injuries.
Following the crash, investigators said a van pulled over to the right shoulder of the freeway, then continued on before CHP officers could contact the driver. Authorities were not sure if the van was involved in the crash or not.
