A 45-year-old male pedestrian was struck killed by a vehicle in Huntington Beach On July 5, 2021, at approximately 2:52 a.m.
Huntington Beach Police responded to reports of a traffic collision in the southbound lanes of Beach Boulevard near Garfield Avenue, involving a pedestrian and a 2018 silver Kia Rio.
First responders discovered a 45-year old male from Huntington Beach had been tragically killed in the accident.
The driver of the Kia Rio, a 35-year old male from Anaheim, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal pedestrian accident.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the Rio was traveling southbound on Beach Boulevard when the pedestrian stepped off of the center median and into the roadway where he was struck. No one else was injured as a result of this traffic collision.
