Kind LLC, the manufacturers of the Kind Bar, is facing a class action suit by consumers who assert that Kind mislead them into believing into believing that some of their products contained unprocessed fruit.
The lawsuit filed in Brooklyn Federal Court claims that several varieties of Kind LLC’s, “Pressed by Kind” and “Fruit Pieces” portray their ingredients as being unprocessed fruit when the fruit has actually being adulterated through the addition of sugar.
Presented as an example, the Mango Apple Bar contains fruits which are pre-treated with sugar prior to being dehydration dehydrated. The suit, which cites fraud and unjust enrichment, claims this is not reflected in the product packaging which includes pictures of whole fruit, while the ingredients simply list, “mango, apple, chia.”
