An unidentified male riding a gas-powered mini bike died Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, after colliding with a big rig truck in Orange.
According to police, the deadly motorcycle collision happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. when the mini-bike rider struck the semitrailer as it was turning from Taft Avenue onto Leslie Way.
The big rig was driving in the right lane of Taft through the industrial area when it began turning onto Leslie.
The mini-bike was in a bike lane traveling in the same direction on Taft. It isn’t clear how far away from the intersection it was when the semi-truck began to make the turn.
Tragically, the rider apparently hit the general area where the two trailers are attached to each other and was run over. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
