An unidentified man has sustained serious injuries after he was involved in a three-car crash in Costa Mesa.
According to the Costa Mesa Fire Department, the three-car crash occurred at the intersection of Newport Boulevard and 16th Street. An off-duty firefighter happened to be on the scene and when firefighters arrived, they found three men and one woman involved from the three vehicles. One of the men was trapped in his vehicle and had to be cut out by firefighters. He had serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The other two men and one woman refused medical treatment at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
