A 56-year-old man has died two weeks after he was involved in a Laguna Niguel pedestrian accident, according to a news report.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said that Scott Clark, a fifth-grade teacher at Laguna Niguel Elementary School and four-time Ironman triathlete, was in a crosswalk crossing Alicia Parkway at Niguel Road when he was hit by one of two cars involved in a crash at that intersection. Clark was taken to Mission Hospital in critical condition with severe head trauma and multiple fractures. He succumbed to his injuries two weeks later.
The two vehicles involved in the accident included a Mercedes and a BMW; it was unclear which vehicle struck the victim. The driver of the BMW — Jamie Mulford, 34, of Laguna Niguel — was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI resulting in injuries.
