34-year-old Adam Thomas Whalen has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a car on State Route 55 in Costa Mesa on the evening of June 16
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 10 p.m. June 16, on SR 55 near the 405 Freeway.
Whalen was riding his motorcycle on the freeway when he collided with a 2014 Audi SUV in the No. 2 lane.
The impact of the crash ejected Whalen onto the roadway where he was tragically struck by several vehicles.
Whalen, a resident of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County coroner’s office.
None of the drivers were injured in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the fatal motorcycle accident.
