A 68-year-old woman is dead and an 83-year-old woman has serious injuries after they were involved in an SUV rollover crash on the 91 freeway in Anaheim.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a 1996 Ford Explorer traveling east on the 91 freeway lost control of the vehicle just past the Imperial Highway off-ramp. The SUV swerved onto the right shoulder and overturned, rolling several times and ejecting three of the six people in the SUV.
All of the passengers were taken to UCI Medical Center, where one of them — Maria Rangel, 68, of Santa Ana — later died. The driver was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
