Two men are dead and two others were injured in a single-car crash in Pasadena Monday night when their car hit a pole and burst into flames.
According to Pasadena police, the traffic fatality was reported about 10:55 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Orange Grove Boulevard. Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash, causing the driver to lose control of the 2016 Toyota Corolla while navigating a curve.
Both the driver and his left rear passenger died at the scene. Authorities withheld the names of the fatally injured men, pending notification of their relatives.
The other two passengers were taken to a hospital in unknown condition and are reported to be a 23-year-old Altadena man and a 23-year-old Santa Clarita man.
Police said it did not appear that any other vehicles were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
