A man in his late 20s has been struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train and killed in an Orange County train accident, according to a news report.
Authorities say that the man was walking east on the tracks near the Fullerton Transportation Center when he was hit by the eastbound freight train, which was traveling at nearly 50 mph at the time of the incident.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The train accident caused delays of up to an hour for eastbound and westbound Metrolink trains.
