Fifty-four-year-old Matthew Austin was tragically killed late Friday night when struck he was hit by a car while crossing the street in Huntington Beach.
According to police, the pedestrian accident happened at about 11:00 p.m. Officers were called to the intersection of Warner Avenue and Bolsa Chica Street where they found a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, which was driven by a 66-year-old Garden Grove man, as well as the badly injured Austin.
Police believe the Elantra was traveling westbound on Warner when it Matthew Austin while he was crossing northbound at Bolsa Chica Street. Austin suffered “extensive injuries” and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
