Riverside County was the scene of tragic death when 65-year-old Robert Davies of Lake Forest, jumped from a plane while skydiving only to have his parachute fail to open.
The incident occurred on Sunday, March 17 2019 at midday. Mr. Davies ended up landing in an empty field near the Perris Valley Airport. Orange County deputies found Davies in the area near 2901 Goetz Road, just south of the airport. They attempted to resuscitate him at the scene but unfortunately he was pronounced dead soon after their arrival.
Davies, originally from Long Branch, New Jersey, studied health at Rutgers University, and psychology at Springfield College, according to his Facebook page. He was the owner of High-Performance Training, Inc. in Lake Forest, and is survived by his wife Jenifer.
