On Wednesday evening a collision occurred in Santa Ana between an SUV and a van driven by Angel Rodriguez who was charged with DUI.
According to police, the fatal crash happened at the intersection of Corta Drive and Edinger Avenue. Both drivers were treated for injuries and the SUV driver was rushed to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the SUV was traveling west on Edinger Avenue approaching Corta Drive. The van, driven by Rodriguez, was traveling east on Edinger Avenue making a left turn onto Corta Drive. As Rodriguez made the left turn, he was struck by the SUV.
Rodriguez was arrested for felony DUI and transported to the Santa Ana Jail for booking.
