Police arrested 18-year-old Sysillia Morrison Montes De Oca in connection with a Thursday night crash that claimed the life of 60-year-old Stanley Isaacs and left his wife, also 60, with moderate injuries.
The couple from Costa Mesa was headed back from an anniversary celebration event at Ristorante Rumari. They were hit by a Volkswagen sedan around 9:38 p.m., as they walked in a lighted crosswalk along South Coast Highway at Pearl Street.
Police said that Isaacs, was transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he tragically succumbed to injuries. His wife was treated and released from the hospital.
Sysillia Morrison Montes De Oca, who was driving the Volkswagen, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and felony hit and run.
