A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Garden Grove, according to a news report.
Garden Grove police said that Albert Nguyen was riding his bike without a helmet on the sidewalk lining Chapman Avenue when he reportedly turned into the street and the path of a vehicle turning off Chapman onto Gilbert Street. Investigators said that the boy’s bike was not equipped with brakes.
Emergency workers found the teen lying in the westbound lanes of Chapman; he was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene to be questioned by police.
