Sal Fernandez, Joseph Mendoza, and Michael Clugston were tragically killed in a Garden Grove crash that sent a truck through a wall into a pool.
The fatal truck crash occurred at around 2 a.m. on Friday, March 12 when a police patrol vehicle pursued a speeding Dodge RAM truck that crashed into a car near the corner of Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue.
The truck, occupied by Fernandez (34) and Mendoza (28) was sent flying through a wall and into a residential swimming pool. Both men died in the crash.
The car that was hit ended up on its side further down the street. It was being driven by Michael Clugston (39) of Anaheim. Clugston was rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center where he was tragically pronounced dead.
According to his wife, Clugston was on his way to work when he was fatally struck. He didn’t normally work Fridays but was putting in overtime because his wife, Stefanie, had lost her job last week.
