A Huntington Beach man was struck and killed while crossing the street in Fountain Valley the evening of Tuesday, March 9.
Fountain Valley police responded to the incident at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Ellis Avenue at 11:52 p.m. where they tragically pronounced the victim, Timothy Durham, 37, of Huntington Beach, dead at the scene.
According to police, Durham was crossing Ellis Avenue when a white 2014 Jeep Compass heading eastbound struck him. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Authorities said that drugs and alcohol were not considered to have factored into the traffic collision following a preliminary investigation and that the fatal pedestrian accident is still being investigated.
