A car accident on I-5 in Santa Ana has claimed the life of a 24-year-old Tustin man, according to a news report.
The California Highway Patrol said that Gabriel Carpio died after his stalled car was hit by a Ford van and a Honda Pilot SUV on southbound I-5 freeway north of Santa Ana Boulevard. Carpio had just disabled his Mini Cooper by crashing into the center divider. The car was then hit by the Ford van and the Honda Pilot; Carpio was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the Ford Van and the Honda Pilot were not injured in the wreck. The CHP is investigating the fatal crash.
