Two drivers were killed in a wrong-way crash amid foggy conditions on the morning of Saturday, October 31 on the 405 Freeway in Long Beach.
The fatal car crash occurred on the southbound side of the freeway near Palo Verde Avenue and resulted in multiple vehicles piling up. Injuries resulting from the pile-up are still being determined by authorities.
The initial report of the car accident stated that the cause of the fatal accident was a Nissan Altima traveling northbound in southbound lanes. The Nissan, driven by a 23-year-old woman, struck a Toyota driven by a 32-year-old man.
Tragically, both people died as a result of the car accident. Police state that visibility was severely restricted by heavy fog with visibility reduced to less than 20 feet. Additionally, police stated that speed was also a factor in the crash.
