A 39-year-old Garden Grove man is being investigated on suspicion of DUI after he was involved in a fatal crash on the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach late Saturday that caused another car to burst into flames, killing two people inside.
According to police, Oscar Anguiano was transported to UCI Medical Center with major injuries following the fatal crash.
Police stated that they believe Anguiano may have been impaired while driving a 2014 Volkswagen that collided with a 2000 Honda on the southbound 405 near Seal Beach Boulevard just before 11:51 p.m. Saturday. They also noted that Anguiano was driving the Volkswagen at a high rate of speed just before the deadly car crash.
“The impact from the collision caused the Honda to erupt in flames,” a CHP investigator wrote in a report about the suspected DUI crash.
Both victims were in the Honda and died at the scene. Information on their identities was not immediately available.
