The California Highway Patrol said that a Honda Insight was traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-5 at a high rate of speed before colliding with an SUV, which then caught fire. Both drivers — Alexander Bradley, 26, of Garden Grove in the Honda and the SUV driver, Julian Rodriguez, 53, of Los Angeles — were pronounced dead at the scene.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
