At Dana Point Harbor Drive and Cove Road yesterday afternoon, a van carrying nine children crashed into a eucalyptus tree. While the van was pulling a trailer carrying surfboards, it has yet to be confirmed whether it’s a business or personal van.
While the driver of the van was unharmed, five of the children suffered traumatic injuries and were taken to Mission Hospital. The other four sustained minor injuries and their parents picked them up from the scene.
There has been no confirmation on where the van was going or what caused the crash. The children in the van are reportedly between the ages of nine and 12.
