A bicyclist with a small dog in his basket was struck and killed by a car in Laguna Beach on the evening of Saturday, October 5.
The fatal bicycle crash happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Street and Glenneyre Street. Police state that the cyclist had a small terrier in the bicycle’s front basket when he was struck and killed by the car.
The bicyclist was rushed to the hospital where he tragically died. The small dog was transported to a local animal hospital with minor injuries and is expected to fully recover.
Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors in the fatal crash.
Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene. The fatal bicycle crash continues to be investigated.
